Anne Smith is a native Savannahian whose professional career has spanned over 30 years. Anne’s work experience consists of both preservation and new construction for a wide variety of project types.
Anne has served on the Board of Directors of the Savannah Speech and Hearing Center since 2002. She served as President of the Board in 2006 and 2007, and in 2017, 2019 -2020. During her tenure as Board President, Anne oversaw the start of our agency’s Sound Start Program – an auditory/oral preschool for children who are deaf and hard of hearing. It is because of Anne’s leadership that this program became a reality. Children who are deaf and hard of hearing are now excelling in regular education classes.
Anne’s expertise and knowledge in her field has served this Center well. From 2018 through 2020, Anne was involved in the design and construction of the new SSHC facility. She served on the Building Committee and acted as the liaison between our contracted builders/architects and the Board of Directors.
Anne has been a valuable resource and a tremendous asset for the Savannah Speech and Hearing Center. Our agency serves over 10,000 individuals a year. Anne has worked diligently to build community awareness of communication disorders and promote early intervention. Her leadership, volunteerism and commitment are great gifts to this center.
Thank you, Anne, for your dedication and service to Savannah Speech and Hearing Center.
