As the holidays approach, you may be looking into different gift options, or maybe you bought a couple recommendations on our earlier toy blog. I love toys that can grow with your child and the push toy and activity table are two of my favorites. Any toy that is versatile over the months is a winner in my book.
1. The Push Toy

Once your child is pulling to stand and trying to take steps at a surface, they are showing “pre walking” skills, these are movements that help them gain strength, balance, and coordination, and prepare them to take their first independent steps
This is the perfect time to introduce a push toy for walking! Start out inside, then progress to different environments. Once your little one has mastered this inside, try taking it outdoors for endurance and fresh air.
This toy is not just for walking either! Kneeling is one of my favorite positions with this. It keeps baby’s attention with all the attachments and provides a healthy challenge with the built in slant.
Not ready for kneeling yet? Try putting it in front of your infant while doing tummy time. This is a great way to encourage reaching and give baby something interesting to look at.

2. The Activity Table

The Activity Table is a great tool to encourage skills like pulling to stand, standing, and cruising (by taking steps to the side).

Like the push toy, kids don’t have to stand to enjoy playing with this! My favorite hack with this toy is to remove the two front legs. This makes it a great surface for kids to practice their sitting, kneeling and reaching.
Both the push toy and activity table can encourage play on the tummy, sitting, kneeling, and standing. I love them because you really get your moneys worth and can use it far past the baby years.
